MASIRAH -- A ring road is being constructed to link districts and villages in Masirah. The road is expected to promote economic and tourism in Masirah. Construction of a waste water project and expansion of the desalination plant in Masirah is under way, says Shaikh Musallam bin Mohammed al Wahshi, Deputy Wali of Masirah.

Masirah, like other wilayats of the Sultanate, has witnessed remarkable achievements during the blessed Renaissance under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. Al Wahshi enumerated the services being rendered by various government's offices for Masirah citizens in health care, water and electricity supplies, education, roads and ports and harbours for fishermen.

With the Royal grant of His Majesty the Sultan 20 residential units will be constructed in the wilayat. The Tourism Ministry will set up a resort in Al Aija district. Other projects include ferry services besides others.
