BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--Kuwait-based Al Aqeelah Investment Co. has signed a $200 million agreement with the Syrian authorities to develop and expand the Sayida Zaynab region in the suburbs of Damascus, the Kuwait-based Al Rai Al Aam daily reported Thursday.
The newspaper said that the project will follow the Build-Operate-Transfer system.
The project includes the development and expansion of the shrine, in addition to building giant investment projects, such as towers, hotels, apartments, malls and commercial shops, the newspaper said.
