SOFIA, Jan 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwait House for National Works signed an agreement Friday with Bulgaria's National History Museum for cooperation and exchange of permanent exhibition halls.

The agreement was signed on the Kuwaiti side by the house's President Yousef Al-Ameeri and the Bulgarian museum's Director Bogidar Dimitrov.

Speaking to KUNA, Al-Ameeri said the agreement aimed to boost cooperation between the two sides and would serve to bring the people of the two countries closer together.

He explained that it placed the basis for long-term cooperation, where the Kuwaiti side would be granted 300 square meters on one of the halls of the Bulgarian museum in which to display aspects of Kuwait's history and its political, social, popular and cultural achievements.

Moreover, the Kuwaiti house will grant the Bulgarian museum an area to permanently display the European country's historic achievements.

The agreement also includes the exchange of expertise and information.

On his part, Dimitrov told KUNA that this agreement was a historic achievement in cultural relations between the two countries, saying that it was the cornerstone for further development of ties.

Kuwait House of National Works had signed a twinning agreement with Bulgaria's Military Museum, involving cooperation and the exchange of information and expertise in the cultural field.
