Recruit highly-trained nurses, attendants: minister
KUWAIT CITY: The Ministry of Health will issue licenses to private companies specialized in transporting patients, reports Al-Watan daily. Indicating that the approval will be granted officially during the next Undersecretaries Council meeting, sources say, the ministry has laid down certain conditions -- only Kuwaiti companies will be eligible and they should provide 3 ambulances and 6 care-takers at least; companies have to pay KD 500 for getting a license and KD 250 for renewing it; companies should get their licenses renewed three months before the existing license expires. Meanwhile, Minister of Health Maasouma Al-Mubarak met representatives of companies hiring nurses on Tuesday and urged them to recruit highly-trained nurses and hospital attendants for the ministry.
Civil Service Commission (CSC) had recently created 1,200 posts for nurses and the ministry intends to recruit efficient and qualified individuals for the posts. Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Secretariat Affairs and Manager of Employees Affairs Department at the ministry, Marzouk Al-Rashidi, said the Development and Training Department in the ministry will hold a training course for supervisors and heads of departments on how to manage conflicts and get the best out of their employees. "We have engaged experts to conduct the course," he added.
