Staff ReportDubai A guitar designed by former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler is being auctioned off in the UAE to raise money for tsunami victims.The specially commissioned Stratocaster will be up for grabs on Radio 2 until 7pm today. Whoever bids highest will be able to meet Knopfler backstage at his Dubai Media City concert on March 3.What happened in late December was an absolute catastrophe and we feel this is one way to raise funds to help the poor and suffering people, said Padma S. Coram, from tour producers The Talent Brokers. The person who wins the bid will get the chance to meet Knopfler prior to his signing and personalising the Stratocaster.Coram said the guitar normally sells for about Dh14,000.
