Dubai, 5 Dec. 2011 (WAM) Jumeirah Group, the Dubai-based luxury hotel company and a member of Dubai Holding, has been appointed to manage the five-star luxury Grand Hotel Via Veneto in Rome. Jumeirah Group will take over the running of the privately-owned hotel and integrate it into its global portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts in early 2012, when the property will be rebranded as Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto, Rome.
Located in the heart of Rome, on the exclusive via Veneto, the hotel has 122 rooms and suites, a spacious lobby, two fine dining restaurants, an award-winning bar, a rooftop solarium and the state-of-the-art Aqva City spa. Complementing the sleek wood furniture, hand-made by Italian master craftsmen, are large, custom-made Murano glass chandeliers, black granite floors and travertine stairways. The Hotel has an impressive art collection of oil paintings and lithographs by such celebrated artists as Picasso, Miro, Nespolo, Dali, Carrara, Burri, Guttuso and de Chirico, with an original "Plan of Rome" created by Giovanni Battista Nolli in 1748. The spacious and beautifully designed guestrooms have large marble bathrooms with Bulgari amenities, flat screen HD televisions, complimentary high speed Internet and photographic artwork of Romes most notable attractions. The centerpiece is the 500 m2 Royal Suite which boasts two bedrooms, a dining room, three large Carrara marble bathrooms, a private marble hammam and more than 270 m2 of outdoor terrace. Many of the rooms overlook the historic Porta Pinciana and the gardens of Villa Borghese just beyond. Grand Hotel Via Veneto was included in the Conde Nast Traveller 2011 Hot List as one of the 101 most beautiful hotels in the world, as well as receiving an array of accolades from other organisations such as the Michelin Hotel Guide, Gambero Rosso, the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences and TripAdvisor. With the addition of Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto, Jumeirah Group now has five luxury properties under management in Europe Jumeirah Carlton Tower, Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel and the recently announced Grosvenor House Apartments by Jumeirah Living in London; and Jumeirah Frankfurt in Germany. In Spring 2012 the company will open Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa in Mallorca, Spain. So far this year Jumeirah Group has opened a total of five new hotels: Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in Dubai, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, Jumeirah Frankfurt in Germany, Jumeirah Dhevanafushi in the Maldives and Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai in China.
