AMMAN, March 20 (KUNA) -- Jordan and Kuwait signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing mutual industrial exports between the two countries.

The accord was signed by Director-Genenal of Kuwait's Public Authority for Industries (PAI) Ali Al-Mudhaf and Yo'rob Al-Qadah, Executive Manager of the Jordanian Foundation for Development of Economic Projects -- with presence of Jordanian Minister of Industry and Commerce Salem Al-Khazaelah and the Kuwaiti ambassador Yousef Al-Eneizi.

Al-Eneizi, in a statement to KUNA, affirmed that the accord would further boost the distinctive ties between Kuwait and Amman.

Al-Khazaela revealed that a senior-level Jordanian delegation would travel to Kuwait, on the 16th of next month, on a mission related to boosting mutual cooperation between the two countries in diverse domains.

Jordan will open a bureau, tasked with encouraging investments in Kuwait soon, he said. The office, to be charged with giving facilities to investors, would be the first of its kind to be opened by Amman in a member state of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

Al-Qadah said mutual exports between the two countries grew by 30 percent last year, signalling concrete improvement in the bilateral ties.
