Iraqi Parliament Member and Head of Hizb ul-Da'wa Heidar Ebadi had a meeting and talk here Wednesday with Representative of Supreme Leader and Secretary of IRI Supreme National Council (SNSC) Sa'eid Jalili.
According to the Secretariat Office of the SNSC, Jalili in the meeting considered the existence of a government emerged from the will of the Iraqi nation as an opportunity for the people of Iraq and the region, emphasizing, "This is an opportunity for taking advantage of the entire potentials at the service of the people."
He added, "Under the current conditions, Iraq must be capable of playing a manor role in regional and international relations and equations, and not permit the enemies to plot conspiracies and take disadvantage of the conditions."
Jalili said that the current achievements of the Iranian nation were achieved despite the pressure imposed by the global oppression and their totalitarian tendencies, reiterating, "The result of this resistance has been self-sufficiency of the Iranian nation in various fields."
Iraqi Parliament Member and Head of Hizb ul-Da'wa Heidar Ebadi, too, in the meeting presented a report on the latest Iraqi, regional and international developments from his party's point of the view, arguing that the advancements of the Iraqi government are the fruit of the efforts mad by Iraqi leaders aimed at passing through the present day difficulties and hardships.
Ebadi added, "The Iraqi Hizb ul-Da'wa (party) favor evermore expanding of Iraq' relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran."
The Islamic Da'wa Party of Iraq was formed in 1957 in the Iraqi holy City of Najaf. Their aim was to create a movement which would promote Islamic values and ethics, and which would become an instrument for political activeness.
This came at a time when there was widespread ignorance about religion and politics in Iraq. Mohammad Baqir al-Sadr laid out the foundations for the party and its political ideology, based on Wilayat Al-Ummah (Governance of the people).
The Islamic Da'wa Party is a political party in Iraq which is a component of the United Iraqi Alliance. It split from the Islamic Da'wa Party during the ousted regime of Saddam Hussein when most of the leaders of Da'wa were in exile.
It was allocated 12 seats by the Alliance after the elections in December 2005.
It is led by Hashim Al-Mousavi, who is its current Secretary-General. The head of the parliamentary bloc of the party is Qasim Muhammad Taqi al-Sahlani.
