Baghdad (AIN) -The Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations, Nizar al-Khierallah, discussed with the Russian Ambassador to Iraq, ElijahMurgunov, the preparations to hold the meetings of the Iraqi-Russian Mutual Commission's sixth round.
A statement by the FM reported "The Ministry's Undersecretary met the Russian Ambassador to Iraq where they reviewed the deep-rooted relations between Iraq and Russia and the prospects of mutual cooperation between both countries."
"Two sides discussed the events in Syria and means to resolve the unrest there where the Russian Ambassador presented an outline for the latest developments and the arrangements to hold 2nd Geneva Conference," the statement added.
For his part, Khierallah referred that "Iraq supports the peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis and it was against the military solutions from the begging of the crisis," according to the statement.
