Ahvaz, Khuzestan Prov. - Deputy Oil Minister and Managing Director of National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC) Abbass Kazemi said on Wednesday that Iran will get self-sufficient in production of high quality gasoline by March 20, 2016, marking end of Iranian year of 1394.

Kazemi told IRNA that once the first phase of Setareh Khalije Fars Refinery comes on stream, the quality of gasoline will improve and the country will get self-sufficient, enabling to export of high quality and standard petrol.

He said all products of Setareh Khalije Fars refinery will be distributed for domestic consumption and the oil products of Abadan and Bandar Abbas refineries will be exported.

He added that currently the country is self-sufficient in terms of production of oil gas, liquid gas and kerosene and by end of the next Iranian year, the country will produce clean gasoline, which would be less pollutant to the environment, while exporting the high value product.

Kazemi said in the meantime that oil ministry supports the Iranian and foreign entrepreneurs investment in the project for establishment of Khozestan 2nd refinery, five kilometers north of Abadan.
