Tehran - Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari said Friday that the first Iranian made oil tanker is to be delivered to Venezuela within a month.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of a farewell meeting with Venezuelan Ambassador to Tehran David Velasquez Caravallo.
Ghazanfari said the oil tanker is one of the four tankers being built by Iranian Marine Industrial Company (SADRA) upon an order by Venezuelan state oil company (PDVSA).
The vessel has a capacity of 113,000 tonns which is equivalent of 75,000 barrels of oil, said the minister.
Iran and Venezuela are members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and have deepened economic ties in recent years.
Manufacturing the tanker, Iran has joined countries with the capability of building oil tankers.
