Iranian delegation is present at the Sixth United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Global Forum opened in Bali, Indonesia on Thursday.
United Nations High Representative for UNAOC Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Naser said in address to the inaugural ceremony that the two-day event aims to promote discourse and intercultural understanding.
Irans Ambassador to Indonesia Mahmoud Farazandeh and a delegation of Iranian experts are participating in the forum.
Based on the events schedule, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa and President Susilo Bambang are among outstanding figures to address the global conference tomorrow.
The forum was set up with the aim of fighting violence through international convergence, cooperation and inter-religious discourse.
Leaders of Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Qatar, Austria, Myanmar, China, India, East Timor and South Africa have been invited by the Indonesian president to the conference.
Some 25 international organizations and 100 representative delegations are present in the event.
First to fifth rounds of the international conference were hosted respectively by Spain, Turkey, Brazil, Qatar and Austria.
