The Iranian Interior Minister, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli believed that the goal of supporting extremist terrorist groups in Iraq by the West over the past years is to pressure Iran.

He said during a speech in the city of Qom, quoted by "IRNA" Iran's official agency briefed by "Shafaq News", that "the opponents of the Iranian role in the region have done all they can in the past and in recent decades and supported all whp oppose Iran and tried to weaken its allies as Palestine, Syria and Iraq".

On the position of Tehran evolution from the security incidents in Iraq, Fazli said that "the Iranian president had given orders to the concerned authorities of rapid military intervention in the event of a direct strike on holy places in Najaf and Karbala from any potential threat which is a red line for Iran."
