Islamabad - A senior Pakistani lawmaker and former Interior Minister said on Saturday that West cannot pressurize Iran over its peaceful nuclear program.

Talking to IRNA, head of Pakistan Peoples Party-Sherpao group and Member of Parliament, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao welcomed the upcoming talks between Iran and the 5+1 group, adding that dialogue is the only solution to solve matters.

"This dialogue is highly significant at this juncture", he said.

The US, Israel, and their allies accuse Iran of pursuing a military nuclear program.

Iran has refuted the allegations, arguing that as a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has the right to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao added that Iran's nuclear right must be respected and the country should be allowed to express its stance at all forums regarding peaceful nuclear program.

The political leader expressing his views said that the doors of dialogue should always be remained opened. He advised West to show flexibility over Iran's peaceful nuclear program.

The lawmaker added that dialogue should be result orientated.

Replying to a question Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said that Arab countries should support Iran over its stance on nuclear program.

"They (Arab countries) have to plead the case of Iran before West and it is in the interest of the entire Muslim world.

The Parliamentarian strongly believed that West has to change its approach towards the Islamic Republic. He said that Iran is a strong country and cannot be isolated by putting pressure.

The politician added that there is no evidence available against peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, adding that Iran has every right to acquire peaceful nuclear technology.

The former minister said that enemies of Iran will not succeed against the Islamic Republic.
