Doha: In recognition of the groundbreaking efforts of the construction industry in Qatar, IQPC has launched the Qatar Contractors Forum Awards that will identify individuals and organisations that have exhibited outstanding achievements over the last 12 months.
The awards will be presented to the winners on the first day of the Qatar Contractors Forum that will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Doha from October 7 to 8.
Qatar has been exhibiting phenomenal activity in the sector with a growth rate of nearly 13 percent.
The awards will highlight valuable work being undertaken in the country.
A judging panel of prominent professionals in the industry will assess projects and select the most deserving ones for awards in six categories.
The panel includes Stephen Lines, Commercial Manager for Qatar Rail and President of the Chartered Institute of Builders; Mark Fenwick, Partner, RFA Irribarren Architects; and Shane Groves, Director, Construction Management MENA, CH2M Hill.
Groves said: "The variety, scale and number of major world class projects planned and currently under construction in Qatar has attracted the interest of world-renowned consultants, contractors and suppliers.
These awards are a way of demonstrating recognition to all involved and the project owners," he added.
