JEDDAH - The two-day IP Bank workshop, organized by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), in association with IDA International and e-Silkroad Asia, will kick off today (Sept. 15) at the KACST headquarters, King Abdullah Road, Riyadh.

KACST is an independent scientific organization that encompasses both the Saudi Arabian National Science Agency and its national laboratories.

IDA International is a fully-owned subsidiary of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. It serves as the execution arm for all infocomm collaboration between Singapore and other countries. It will be represented at the workshop by Seah Chin Siong, the founding CEO of IDA International.

Seah has advised top political leaders and public administrators throughout different regions in the world including South East Asia, Africa, North Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean.

e-Silkroad aggregates technology IP from Japan and South Korea for the purpose of rapidly commercializing them globally. This event will gather expert and people interested in the rapid dissemination of technology innovation around the world. New technologies, ideas and models will be highlighted.

Workshop sessions will include:

1.Technology macro trends current technology landscape and the emerging trends, and the importance of intellectual property in value creation for nations.

2. A presentation and solution demonstration of emerging technologies from some of the most innovative companies in Japan and Korea.

3. Defining the IP Bank vision explaining the vision statement and key business activities.

4. The IP Bank business model the conceptual business model of the IP Bank and value creation opportunities across upstream, midstream and downstream segments.

5. The Kingdom's Technology Vision & Strategic Focus and the plans to achieving them.

The event is also backed by the Saudi-Korean Friendship Society under its chairman Lee, Jong Cheon who was a former counselor at the Korean embassy in Riyadh and is also the publisher of the Korea-Saudi newsletter - The Bridge over Asia.
