Innovative Energy Systems (Inersys), a subsidiary of National Gas Co, has introduced the 'Mettis' range of fire trucks and specialised vehicles in Oman.Mettis International is a Slovenia-based firefighting truck manufacturing company with an established presence in the European market.
The Inersys management recently made a presentation for officials from the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and the Ministry of Defence to showcase the new range of trucks.
Vimal Mishra, operations manager of Inersys, said, "We wanted to offer a technologically efficient and cost-effective option for firefighting trucks and specialty vehicles to the sultanate and have therefore have joined hands with Mettis International to cater to the regular as well as specialist needs of various authorities and industries in Oman. This diversification value adds to Inersys' portfolio of firefighting and fire-safety products."
Matej Sevnickar, director of sales, Mettis International, said during the presentation, "In view of the high temperatures and difficult working conditions in the Gulf, we would produce fire trucks with material, equipment and electronics suitable to operation under such difficult conditions on order to avoid undue breakdowns. We are also well aware of the after-sales service needs of these trucks and have therefore planned to provide an after-sales service partner for the Oman market."
Marjan Cvikl, general manager, Mettis International, and also one of the owners of the company was also present during the meeting. Inersys has been jointly incorporated by National Gas and a technologically specialised company Ashtech Gas Engineering & Services from UAE.
