Abu Dhabi, 19th Aug. 2012 (WAM) -- Eid al Fitr prayer were offered this morning at Mussalas and grand mosques across the country with prayer leaders (Imams) imploring the Muslim congregation to maintain the spiritual and charitable sense of piety, obedience and generosity prevailed during the fasting month of Ramadan throughout the year.
The preachers said the sacred days and nights of the holy month of Ramadan had gone past, for which ''we need to give thanks to Allah, The Most Generous, on the great favours He has endowed upon us, including the completion of fasting, standing up for prayer at night, reciting the holy Quran, remembering His name and giving charity. They added that Eid is the time for the observers of fast to reap what they had sownthroughout the month.
On this day, Imams noted, angels stand on road entrances to greet servants of Allah and bring the glad tidings of His Mercy on them while they are making their way to the mosques and praising the name of Allah.''But the ultimate joy is the privilege of entering the Paradise via the Rayyan, the gate Allah has exclusively reserved for the observers of fast and with which to honour them. About it, our Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said, "in Paradise there is a gate which is called Rayyan through which only the observers of fast would enter on the Day of Resurrection.
''The Eid is meant to be a time of enjoyment that should extend to one's family, relatives, friends and neighbours and even domestic helpers. In this, Muslims should follow the tradition of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), who had been keen to spread joy and share it with his family.''Imams also shone light on charitable works like visiting patients, hosting iftar banquets during the holy month of Ramadan, building mosques, schools and Quran memorisation centres, as well as sponsoring orphans. They said Eid al Fitr is a precious opportunity for consolidating relations, intimacy and mercy amongst Muslims, citing a relevant verse from the Quran on obedience of Allah and His messenger "O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you."They urged the worshippers to promote and observe the values of right, justice, peaceand intimacy. ''May Allah grant our leader President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and other UAE leaders success in serving Islam and the homeland. May Allah have mercy on the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum and rest them in His paradise.''They prayed to Allah, the Most Gracious, to continue blessing the UAE and all Muslim countries with safety and security and save the UAE and its leaders from any harm.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2012.
