Dubai, 9th Oct. 2011 (WAM) -- Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award officially launched their website today in The Gulf International Technology Exhibition (Gitex) 2011. As first time participants in Gitex, the Award is strongly striving to capture some of the promotion and marketing opportunities that come with an international event such as Gitex, where people from all around the globe are coming to visit starting today until the 13th of October.

The website hipa.ae will act as an important hub for the Award, due to being a key method for participants worldwide to submit their photographs and applications in any of the three categories , that the Board of Trustees mentioned before 'Love of the Earth', 'Dubai' and 'General'.

For the first season of the Award, The Board of Trustees decided on the category 'Love of the Earth' as a main theme. 'Love of the Earth 'will play a vital role in the Awards' first season as per directions of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to emphasize the importance of the Earth and people belonging to their homelands, thus allowing people worldwide to capture that essence of attachment, devotion and love to their country.

On the same subject, Sahar Al Zarei, Assistant Secretary General, stated that being one of the sponsors for Gitex 2011, enables us to market, advertise, publicize and promote The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award on a higher standard and with more efficiency, allowing us to reach the utmost number of participants before the deadline of the Award, which is on the 31st of December 2011, by midnight, UAE standard time. Al Zarei pointed out that the website has been up and running effectively since announcing in May, that the award is accepting participants. Surprisingly, the Award went around the globe rapidly making our participants come from 75 different countries. In the lead with the most participants is the United Arab Emirates, following closely is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, next is Egypt, then India and the United Kingdom.

During Gitex 2011, The Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid International Photography Award will display what the Award has to offer to its participant from services to prizes, details about the registration procedure and how to participate and submit your photographs. The Awards social feeds such as Facebook, Twitter and other social networks will all be completely set up, in order to generate opportunities for everyone to take part, hence creating a worldwide engagement. These online pages will act as an interactive gateway between the Award and talents globally, to receive comments and suggestions to put into action next year with the aim of exceeding our standard of excellence. Moreover, we will launch a pilot application custom made for the Award covered by 'Iphones'.
