BASRA: Southern Gas Company's Director General announced today that the capacity of gas production was increased fron 240 to 500 million cubic feet daily.

Ali Khudhair added that the current production reached to 400 million cubic feet, which is lesser than the real capacity of 100 million cubic feet.

He added that the priorities of the company will be collecting the accompanying gas to provide energy stations with needed fuel.

Basra Gas Company was able to increase its gas supplies (ZFOD), the sources added.

He added that this quantity will help providing electricity to more 1.5 million housing units and filling 100.000 gas cylinders.

Estimates expect that Basra Gas Company will be able, by 2020, to provide enough gas to compensate 140.000 b/d, which is used in power genetation at present time.
