The has increased production capacity by 40 per cent and is planning to expand activities in insulation products.
Ghassan Khayat, general manager, said the management has succeeded in the last few months in developing the factory and increasing production of all kinds of rockwool and insulation products.
"In order to satisfy our customers' growing demands for rockwool products, the factory increased its production capacity by 40 per cent during the last few months compared to last year. Efforts have been made to better sound, fire and heat resistant rockwool products."
Last year, the factory increased its production from 14,000 tonnes to 20,000 tonnes to meet the increasing demand.
"It was a plan we carried out to cope with the global advancement in technology in manufacturing rockwool products. International quality goods are produced using high-tech equipment."
The factory enjoys a very good reputation, being the only rockwool factory of its kind in the UAE.
Strong competition in the Gulf and world markets prompts the management to adopt new work strategies and development plans.
The Fujairah Rockwool Factory, which operates a Quality Management System that complies with ISO 9001:2000, started operations in 1982 with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes a year. It then expanded output to 14,000 tonnes a year, becoming the largest manufacturer of insulation products in the GCC.
The company supplies rockwool and insulation products to more than 20 Arab and foreign countries, including the UAE, GCC, Venezuela, Turkey, Singa-pore, Taiwan and Australia.
"We also supply rockwool products to major projects in Doha, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, Georgia, and Egypt."
Khayat said the factory uses a highly advanced technology to melt raw diabase at 1,400 degrees centigrade to make the flowing lava spin at a high speed, using the latest multi-spin disc system to produce hairline fibres which are bound together by spraying with a heat-setting resin.
"Our products are made in four forms of rockwool panels, mattresses, performed pipe sections and loose wool form, supplied with or without facings of aluminium or wire mesh."
