Muscat: Passengers travelling to Salalah by air are requested to ensure freight insurance for the vehicle that will reach them via trailers.

The Capital Market Authority said: “Disclaimer, the authority would like to draw the attention of the owners of vehicles that are shipped via trailers that the insurance policy for these vehicles is not effective and insurance coverage is forfeited during the period of shipment, whether the type of insurance is comprehensive or a third party."

The authority clarified that the vehicle owner must ensure before shipping his vehicle, independent insurance for the cargo i.e. freight insurance.

It is mandatory that the freight vehicle has insurance that includes the load and not just for the locomotive alone.
