Paris - Former French foreign minister Roland Dumas said on Saturday that unleashing economic sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran woudl bear no fruits. In an exclusive interview with IRNA, he said there is no doubt that various sets of sanctions imposed against Iran at various junctures were futile and did not met the interests of their architects.
Sanctions incite national pride of nations as the Iranian slove their national identity and their motherland, he said.
These sanctions would leave negative impacts on the mind of the Iranian people, he said.
Imposing Sanctions is tantamount to confronting the Iranian nation which is not acceptable to the world public opinion, he said.
Globalization process runs counter to imposing economic sanctions on nations, he underlined.
The West tries to respond to its own public opinion by taking tough action against Iran, he said.
There is no harmony among western countries in dealing with Iran and the US along with certain countries are trying to put pressure on Iran eve in defiance of international laws and regulations, he said.
