Abu Dhabi: Food prices rose 3.1% in Abu Dhabi during the third week of Islam’s holy month of Ramadan, data released by the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) showed.

The Food Cost Index for Ramadan’s food increased 2.5% in the UAE capital, 4.2% in Al Ain, and 3.5% in Al Dhafra, SCAD's report added.

In the third week of Ramadan, meat prices jumped 7.1%, while fruit prices grew 6.1%, and prices of fish and seafood as well as oil and fats increased 5.9% each.
