KHARTOUM: Speaker of the Federal National Speaker (FNC), Mohammed Ahmed Al-Murr, has received Vice President of Cameroon's National Assembly, Hamado Sali, on the sidelines of 8th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
In remarks at the meeting, Al Mur said Islam is a model for tolerance and moderation, and emphasized on the need for using financial resources of states for construction and for the development of human resources, rather than for funding wars and fighting. African countries enjoy a rich history and ancient heritage and its art indicates the depth of its civilization. Al Mur welcomed Cameroon's participation in the African Group's visit to the UAE. For his part, the Cameroonian parliamentarian expressed his country's interest in furthering relations with the UAE, noting that Emirates Airline will inaugurate its maiden flight to Cameroon in 2 months opening up new venues for cooperation between the two countries. Present at the meeting were FNC members, Ambassador of the UAE to Sudan, Ahmed Sulaiman Al-Shehhi and members of the Cameroonian delegation to the current conference in Sudan.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2013.
