Crown Prince opens Sheikh Saad Terminal
KUWAIT CITY: His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday inaugurated the Sheikh Saad Aviation Terminal. Organized by Wataniya Airways, the event was also attended by Jassem Al-Khorafi, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad, and a number of senior government officials as well as dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, Royal Aviation Chairman, Mubarak Al Mascati said: "We are privileged to welcome HH the Crown Prince to the terminal which was named in honour of His Highness late Sheikh Saad and is a fitting tribute to a man who was known for his kindness and generosity and his tireless efforts to help Kuwait develop and prosper."
For his part, Abdulsalam Al Bahar, Chairman of Wataniya Airways said: "We are delighted to have been granted the privilege of using this special terminal as our hub from which we connect directly to Dubai, Beirut, Cairo and Bahrain, and we are also deeply honoured to have HH the Crown Prince share in our celebration to officially inaugurate the facility." "The terminal in question represents a great achievement for the development of Kuwait International Airport and symbolizes the progress and maturity of Kuwait and as such I'm sure that Father Amir would have been proud of this prestigious facility," he added. Located in Subhan area, Sheikh Saad Terminal brings local airport accessibility to an international destination, even as the terminal boasts of an array of services such as valet, concierge, ample shaded parking, dedicated immigration and security, in addition to relaxation lounges with wireless Internet connectivity for all passengers.
According to Wataniya Airways, the Sheikh Saad terminal is the first of its kind in Kuwait and one of the country's landmark projects that was completed in May 2008 and is fully equipped to handle all types of private and commercial aircraft apart from providing the highest possible level of service to passengers using the facility. The terminal is managed by Royal Aviation Company, a subsidiary of Kuwait National Airways which also owns Wataniya Airways, and is deemed one of the best private aviation facilities in the word. Wataniya Airways, Kuwait's new premium service airline also commended its scheduled flights to and from the Sheikh Saad Terminal on Jan 24. This is the first time ever that a commercial airline has used the special facilities of this terminal as its exclusive arrival and departure hub.
