MUSCAT -- For the first time in Oman, Ernst & Young Muscat will be hosting a hands-on training course on 'Network Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking Techniques'. The course is a part of continuous efforts by the firm to increase awareness and share knowledge with the industry. Ernst & Young has been conducting knowledge sharing sessions, including the recently concluded six-part knowledge series over COBIT framework.
The course is approved by GIAC (Global information assurance certification) and is designed as a six-day hands-on extensive learning programme in collaboration with SANS -- a well-known institute for information security training (www.sans.org). The course will be held from Saturday, April 4 to Thursday, April 9, 2009, and will cover areas such as: Planning, Scoping and Reconnaissance; Scanning; Exploitation; Password Attacks; Wireless and Web Applications; Penetration Testing Workshop and Capture the Flag Event.
The course, which is recommended for system administrators, security officers, IT auditors, professional penetration testers, consultants and security personnel whose job involves assessing target networks and systems to find security vulnerabilities, will be delivered by Pieter Danhieux who is a security auditor at Ernst & Young's Technology and Security Risk Services department in Brussels.
