Finn's products
The Finn Corporation has many firsts to its credit right from the Finn Straw Blower to the world's first HydroSeeder introduced in 1953. Today, Finn provides the world's only comprehensive HydroSeeding System(TM), which includes equipment, consumable products and training in Hydroseeding techniques.
Finn manufactures HydroSeeder lawn seeding machines, HydroSeeder Additive System, Bark BlowerTM bulk material spreaders, EagleTM compact skid-steer multi-purpose landscaping machines and Finn Straw Blowers; and Barantech is the dealer for all these products.
Hydroseeder: The first HydroSeeder invented by Finn to efficiently shoot seed and fertilisers over broad areas, was more than a product innovation. It spawned the growth of a whole new breed of turf and erosion control contractors.
Hydroseeding, simply put, is the science of mixing, transporting and applying of all the necessary elements required to establish a vegetative growth, and prevent soil erosion. The mixture which contains all the necessary elements is referred to as mulch. From grass seeds to granular fertilisers, these can be mixed in and applied on the land for optimum results in the minimum imaginable time.
The Hydroseeder is the machine that mixes and dispenses all the additives and sprays them on the soil. It consists of two major parts: the tank and the pump.
The tank is where all the necessary elements are mixed with water. Sizes vary depending on the job requirements and some more advanced machines are equipped with a reversible agitator which creates a unique mulch and facilitates the mixing procedure. The centrifuge pump is designed for each size so that it can spray the material in the least time and farthest distance, saving both time and labour.
With continued product improvement, the Hydro Seeder has become the most advanced labour-saving equipment for cost-effective seeding of large areas. Larger HydroSeeders can seed and mulch upto one acre per load. It also helps to flexibly apply various blends of seeds, fertilisers, fibre mulch and growth-enhancing additives in one step. Giving an eight-fold increase in productivity, the HydroSeeder's unique method of Hydraulic Mulching is a stimulant for growth.
An agronomists delight, the HydroSeeder helps to plant lawns at low costs; makes hard-to-reach areas completely accessible; helps in profitable erosion control; establishes greens capes efficiently; and stabilises slopes fast. Moreover, it is a productive partner for highway construction, has a high capacity and is used for efficient mine reclamation.
Additives: The HydroSeeder system has special additives designed specially for its applications. A mixture that contains these additives is a slurry mulch which creates the ideal growing environment for the seed and establishment of perfectly green velvety lawns. The additives help to condition the soil, so that it holds water better; and this enables to water deeply, instead of watering frequently and lightly. Since the additive system performs multiple operations in a single step, it helps save costs considerably.
Different additives serve different needs. Some like HydroMax consist of plant hormones and vitamins, which stimulate early germination and root development, beneficial bacteria and microbes; others like the HydroStik is a concentrated gum-based tackifier that keeps mulch or straw from washing or blowing away; Hydro gel consists of polymeric particles which can absorb water up to 500 percent of their size for moisture retention; while FiberPlus is a synthetic fibre that makes mulch hold better, when applied, by binding the mulch fibres together. Yet another, GreenPlus, is a concentrated green dye used to improve the visual appearance of fibre and paper mulch; while Finn MB is a highly concentrated blend of beneficial micro-organisms, designed for the hydroseeding industry for new turf establishment.
Johnny Sides, Owner, Sides Seeding and Landscaping, puts it aptly when he says, "If you're seeding without a HydroSeeder, then you're not fully equipped."
Eagle Skid Steer: With 65 years of engineering experience, Finn's Skid Steer shows how to do more with less. It adds versatility to operations, while reducing manpower requirements on labour-intense projects. It improves a company's team's efficiency and project turnaround time, and makes each job more profitable.
Its salient features are: superior hydraulics ensuring plenty of power to the wheels; change of attachments in less than a minute; dual fuel tanks providing more fuel capacity; standard features such as hydraulic oil cooler, 4 cu ft bucket, counterweight and soft foam filled AG tyres; superior ergonomics; rugged frame construction; and at 40.5" wide, 35.5" with optional tyres, it is narrow enough for confined spaces.
With over 40 attachments available, the applications include moving heavy objects, controlled material spreading, landscaping, fence installation, turf renovation and over seeding. It also digs trenches making it ideal for irrigation systems, utility lines or light construction jobs.
Now, that's a seed for thought!
SeminarTo spread awareness about their superior product range, the company will be organising a one day seminar in early October in Dubai, which will be conducted by professionals from Finn Corporation USA. Half a day will be spent in briefing the participants while the other half will be spent making field visits. The topics on the agenda include: Hydroseeders and their impact on erosion control; Additives and the use of additive systems in developing landscape; and introducing the Eagle Compact Skid with its versatile applications to the Gulf market.
