KUWAIT, April 27 (KUNA) -- Fahaheel handball team defeated on Friday Khaitan 30-28 in the 10th round of the national League for the 2006-07 season, in a game which witnessed an incredible performance by Khaitan.
Fahaheel entered the match hoping to guarantee a spot in the quarter finals with 11 points in rankings, while Khaitan showed up with nothing to lose, having a one point in rankings and is at the bottom of the league.
The match began unexpectedly with very intense and active plays by Khaitan who dominated the court in the first half and took the early lead 16-15.
The second half continued neck-to-neck with each team scoring a back-to-back points, however in the last few minutes Fahaheel experienced players knew how to keep a two-point advantage and win the game 30-28.
Meanwhile, in another match, Sulaibikhat team continued its path toward the quarter finals with a win over Al-Shabab 40-22.
The match began with a strong line-up presence and performance by Sulaibekhat players who concentrated from start on attacks and winning the first half 17-7.
In the second half Sulaibikhat persisted with strong plays and experience players like Haitham Al-Reshidi, and the brothers Faisal and Hussain Siwan, who formed a deadly attack machine on Al-Shabab.
Al-Shabab surrendered to attacks by Sulaibikhat, who now has 11 points in the league rankings.
