Gulf Contracting and Trading Company held the official launch of BYD Auto at Movenpick Hotel in the Free Trade Zone recently. Two of BYD Auto's latest vehicles, F3 and F6 2010 models, were also launched on the occasion. Vice-Chairman of Gulf Contracting and Trading Company Mubarak Naser Alsayer addressed the crowd in the presence of H.E. Ambassador of People's Republic of China Huang Jiemin, Commercial Counselor Hu Yaowu, members of the diplomatic mission, BYD Chief Channel Management Elton Xu and BYD Regional Manager Patrik Xhou.
Following is the full text of Alsayer's speech:
"I'm very pleased to have you with us today on this event, not to launch a new car but a whole new brand in the region penetrating major markets around the world that it became the talk of economic analysts and car industry specialists. It's the largest Chinese manufacturer of rechargeable batteries and the largest Chinese car maker. It has ambitious plans to be the number one car maker on china by 2015. It is BYD LTD listed in Hong Kong Stock Exchange a high profile technology operation. Its sales continued without being affected by the current world's financial crisis, and even continued to thrive and grow.
The company started back in 1995 and has now 9 facilities across China on a total of 7 million square meters. It established it presence through its own regional offices in USA, Europe, Japan, South Africa, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the list goes on the around the world, employing more than 130,000 employees.
BYD LTD is specialized in key two industries: IT and car industry. Its IT range includes IT technologies, rechargeable butteries, rechargeable equipment, power and audio components, electrical accessories, LCD screens, plastic fittings, electronic metal components, switch boards, electronic instruments, electronic optics, and mobile designs and accessories.
In the auto industry, BYD LTD has outperformed all other Chinese car makers offering 45 trademarks.
BYD is a company with the fastest growth among Chinese companies and is determined to implement its strategic plan to gain number 1 position in the automotive industry sold across China in 2015 and its vision to be the first car manufacturer in the world in 2025.
The question is: Why BYD among 45 auto brands has outperformed all other domestic brand car makers. The answer why BYD did so is summed up as follows:
1. BYD is the first and top car maker among all other brands in China.
2. BYD is dominating the market by specializing on electric cars industry and committed to R&D on gasoline and full hybrid cars.
3. Adoption of BYD fully on the acquisition and employment of the latest and finest technologies and therefore has its own labs and electronic research facilities and a specialist lab for electrical car research, including professional and specialist engineering team in research and development, testing and production.
4. BYD developed quality standard system reflecting the company commitment to quality, and won ISO quality certificates 14001, LSO 90001, and global quality certificate QS9000, and a lot of other quality certificates and awards like C3 in China.
5. BYD policy is focused on developing highest HR levels and international standards for training and development setting global industry models despite its relatively short life compared to other local Chinese and global rivals.
6. Social responsibility is a key ingredient of BYD strategy which put it as a leader in innovation, pursuit of perfection, and contribution to a bright future serving the whole world markets.
At present BYD has a minimum of 8 models which have gone through intensive tests before being launched in the world markets with highest fuel efficiency, lowest emission, dust control, and liquid outlet, with perfect adaptation to various levels of temperature. BYD caries out 40 types of tests before the final approval. One of BYD projects whose cars have become the focus of world attention is E6 to be launched in 2010. It is an all electrical car with a new concept in electrical cars industry which will be soon launched in the world market. E6 is an electrical car with an exceptional performance and environment friendly with no pollution emissions and no noise. It is an absolutely quite car, demonstrating unique combination of safety and exceptional power with 0-100 Km acceleration in 14 seconds, featuring a maximum speed of 140K/power.
So it is no surprise that Warren Buffett one of the richest businessmen in the world has invested huge amounts of money in BYD for his strong and wise faith in the future of this company, its wise and innovative policy around the world. In September 2008, Mr. Buffett bought a $ 1.8 billion Hong Kong dollars 225 million of BYD's stock shares, equivalent to 10 per cent of the total shares of BYD, where the share value at the time was 8 Hong Kong dollars per share, and imagine at the end of August 2009 means exactly in one year only, BYD's share price jumped high to 48.6 Hong Kong dollars to estimates Buffett' has achieved a profit increase of more than 500% making profits to more than 9.1 billion Hong Kong dollars. Companies, such as those made profits in the world, such as BYD under this tough world's finance crisis.
Other major companies in the telecommunication industry like Nokia, Samsung, and Motorola have put their trust in BYD based on its leading position in rechargeable batteries development and production. And even global auto manufacturers such as Volkswagen have signed this year a contract with BYD to explore options for partnership in the area of hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles powered by batteries due to BYD's superiority on this field.
In 2008 BYD reaped: $1.7 billion in the phones and components, $900,000 of the batteries, and $1.3 billion industry from electric cars & hybrids, and will significantly surpass all competition in the future to achieve its aim leadership position.

Trendy Appearance
F3R-AT remained characteristics of manual version, being decent and fashionable, illustrating the dynamic rhythm as a hatchback. Compared to the manual one, the most obvious amendment for F3R - AT is the front grille, changing from "Jalousie Gridding" to "Cloud-pattern Gridding". The colour of grille also has been changed from silver to black. It's said that F3R - AT was once named as 'Olympic Version'. Maybe the Cloud-pattern Gridding design was inspired by the Cloud of Promise design on 2008 Beijing Olympic Torch. Even though there is no dramatic change in design, the front grille looks more dynamic with F3R metallic logo, trending the front to be more stylish.
F3R- AT, meanwhile, continues the distinctive sleek and embolden appearance, striking the convention with commanding exterior and welcoming interior.
