ABU DHABI, 18th June, 2017 (WAM) -- Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, has stated that excellence is the main trait of the journey of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, which was keen to harness its efforts and energies throughout the past 10 years, by providing innovative models of performance and advancing the co-ordinated efforts of executive and legislative authorities to new levels of co-operation, to serve the UAE community.

During the opening presentation of the "10-Year Harvest" report issued by the Ministry, which summarises its stages of work since its establishment in 2006, including the launch of creative initiatives that contributed to serving the nation and its citizens, she stressed that the vision of the wise leadership was the main pillar for the development of the Ministrys plans and strategies.

She highlighted how, throughout the last ten years, the Ministry had a vital role in guiding parliamentary efforts to benefit the nation and its citizens, reflecting the directives of the countrys leadership to build effective partnerships and promote the position of the UAE.

Al Kaabi added that the Ministry has successfully organised previous elections in 2006, 2011 and 2015, which became a unique experience that attracted regional and international attention.

The report also includes an introduction about the political empowerment programme of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who established a new phase of political participation in the UAE.

The report further highlights the Ministrys contribution in promoting the relations between the government and the Federal National Council, FNC, as well as between executive and legislative authorities.

The report also shows the outcomes of the efficient co-ordination between the FNC and the government during the last ten years, including their discussions on 121 draft laws and 53 public issues, and the responses to 405 questions. The report adds that the FNC sessions witnessed high levels of participation from ministers and government representatives.

The report also highlights how the Political Development Department had signed nine memorandums of understanding with relevant authorities and institutions, while the beneficiaries of 118 various awareness activities totalled 13,000 people.

The report also adds that the department has organised the "Federal and Local Government Employee Visits to the FNC" programme, and the beneficiaries of this initiative totalled some 1,364 employees from over 85 federal government, as well as and authorities and community associations.
