ArabFinance: Ever Given is expected to go for the second plan after being seized in the Great Bitter Lake, the Wall Street Journal reported on April 16th.

The ship is considering removing thousands of containers to get the goods moving to their final destinations after an Egyptian court seized the giant cargo ship over a compensation feud.

Shifting the cargo to another ship would be a physical challenge and may require moving the vessel from its anchorage in the canals Great Bitter Lake to Egypts nearby Port Said.

On April 14th, The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) decided to impound Ever Given vessel until receiving the requested compensation.

On April 13th, The Ismailia Economic Court approved the seizure request regarding the Ever Given container ship until receiving compensation.

The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) requested the ships owner to pay $900 million in compensation.

The ships crew will be prevented from leaving the Great Bitter Lake.

Earlier, the SCA Chairman Osama Rabei said that the authority is seeking over $1 billion in compensation for the losses incurred from the blocking of the Suez Canal by Ever Given.

Navigation along the canal resumed on March 29th at 6 pm local time, following the successful refloating of Ever Given giant container vessel which blocked Canal Suez for six days since March 23rd.
