Cairo: The Egyptian government has decided to raise imported quantities of rice, with qualities to match that of the local product.

The strategy to increase supplies aims at balancing the market, according to the prime minister.

Prime Minister Sherif Ismail held a meeting with the ministers of supply and agriculture on Tuesday, as reported by the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
