CAIRO (Dow Jones)--Egypt has appointed a new Minister of Irrigation & Water Resources and created a new post of Minister of Population & Family Affairs, Al Ahram newspaper reports Thursday.
Mohamed Nasreldin Allam was appointed as new Minister of Irrigation & Water Resources, while Moushira Khattab was given the post of Minister of Population & Family Affairs after separating that portfolio from the Ministry of Health, the state-owned daily reports.
Al Ahram quotes Soleiman Awad, presidential spokesperson as stating that the previous Minister of Irrigation Mahmoud Abuzeid asked to be relieved of his post for health reasons.
