Lovers of 'Rhythm 'n' Blues' will have the chance to swing to Craig David's music when he performs live here on October 9.
The award-winning British artist starts his Middle Eastern 'Slicker Than Your Average' Tour in a Dubai concert expected to attract around 9,000 fans. It is being held in collaboration between Dubai-based Mirage Promotions and the Arabian Radio Network.
Abdul Latif Al Sayegh, managing director of the network, said: "The event is receiving fantastic response from media partners." The concert takes place at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, a purpose-built arena which guarantees a clear view of the stage for up to 9,000 people.
Zeina El-Haj, ARN's Public Relations Manager said starting next week the network will be conducting live contests in which listeners will have the chance to win at least three free tickets for the concert every day.
Craig became the face of the flourishing UK garage scene when he provided the vocals for Artful Dodger's chart topping hit Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta), but it was his own debut single, Fill Me In, that really captured the world's attention, capitalising on that success later the same year with his debut album, Born To Do It.
David's second album - Slicker Than Your Average - includes chart topping hit Rise and Fall in which he teamed up with Sting.
David will also be performing in Bahrain on October 8. Door open at 7pm and the concert kicks of at 9pm. Tickets are available at Dubai Media City, all Virgin Megastores in the UAE and Areej stores in Dubai.
