DUBAI - Dubai Duty Free (DDF) has bagged the 'Airport Retailer of the Year' for the fourth consecutive year. The frontier awards are held during the Tax Free World Association (TFWA) exhibition in Cannes and are only global awards for the travel industry.
Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai, said: "I would like to convey my congratulations to the management and staff at Dubai Duty Free for winning such a top industry award for the fourth consecutive year.
"This award is well deserved and underlines the international status that the operation has achieved over the past two decades."
Colm McLoughlin, managing director, Dubai Duty Free said: " This is a fantastic achievement for the operation and I would like to thank the international panel of judges for selecting Dubai Duty Free for this top honour. I dedicate this award to Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and also to each and every member of Dubai Duty Free team.
The DDF was also highly commended in Best Marketing Campaign by a retailer's category.
The entry focused on the operation's 20th anniversary marketing campaign which culminated with the charitable donation of the anniversary day sales of $1.9 million last December.BY STAFF REPORTER
