Dolphin Awards EPC Contracts For Eastern Gas Distribution System

Dolphin Energy Limited announced on 3 May that it had awarded the two EPC contracts for its Eastern Gas Distribution System (EGDS) in the UAE. The award for the east and west facilities contract went to Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) and covers engineering, procurement and construction of civil, pipelines, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), telecommunication and electrical facilities in order to expand, modify and upgrade the existing EGDS. It also includes construction of the new Dolphin operations and administration building and expanding the control building at Al-ʹAin Gas Terminal. Punj Lloyd was awarded the civil and fiber optics cable EPC contract for the EGDS. When the construction of the Dolphin gas project is completed at the end of this year, substantial quantities of gas will flow from Qatar to the UAE. The upgrade of the existing EGDS will enable Dolphin to deliver gas to customers in Abu Dhabi, Dubaiand the Northern Emirates during 2007, and subsequently to Oman in 2008.
