Amman - The District Toastmasters Annual Conference (DTAC 2011) on Friday continued deliberations at the Landmark Hotel in Amman.
Every year, toastmasters from across District 79 which covers the Gulf Cooperation Council states, Jordan and Lebanon, hold an annual conference in a different country.
The three-day event, which grouped over 400 toastmasters from across the region, provided an opportunity for business professionals, students, and people from all walks of life to participate in speech contests and attend keynote speeches and educational workshops by world champion speakers and professionals in the training and communications fields.
In statements to Jordan News Agency, the participants said that Jordan's secure, open, democratic and stable climate encouraged them to hold this year's conference in Amman, stressing that the gathering enables the participants to exchange ideas and improve their personalities. Toastmasters International's humble beginnings began in 1924 at the YMCA in Santa Ana, California.
