Abu Dhabi The Department of Economic Development (DED) in Abu Dhabi announced the launch of a series of discussion sessions entitled ‘Abu Dhabi Ramadan Barza’ at a press conference on Wednesday.

The five-session programme, which will kick of on Tuesday after iftar time, will take place at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre and is aimed at strengthening the levels of communication between governmental and semi-governmental entities, in addition to other strategic partners.

The Ramadan Barza will include the participation of the Statistics Centre, Abu Dhabi (SCAD), Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council, Abu Dhabi Terminals and Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC).

2030 vision

The first meeting led by the DED will be dedicated to discussing Abu Dhabi’s 2030 vision. The remaining sessions will have different themes based on the participants. The fifth and final session will be a forum that gathers all the partners together to review the most prominent government projects, strategies, plans and programmes.

Magda Al Hammadi, communication management team coordinator at the DED, and chairperson of the Executive Committee organising the Ramadan Barza, told Gulf News that this is the first time so many organisations have come together “to discuss issues related to the public and the community”.

It is also the first public appearance of the Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council.

“This is an opportunity and we grabbed it,” said Anas Joudah Al Barghouthi, executive director of markets and the consumer services sector of Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council.

“It’s an excellent forum through which decision makers and leaders of Abu Dhabi get to see and hear things first hand from public employees.

“I’m looking forward to day five after we have interacted with our strategic partners and the sponsors of Braza and our invitees.

“We want to share our future plans and at the same time share some of the results of the services we’ve offered already.”

Al Hammadi said she hopes this year’s event is a success and will take place annually.
