After a meeting with Interim Prime Minister Ali Larayedh, ISIE President explained that fixing the date of the elections depends on two determinant factors namely the promulgation of the Constitution and the elaboration of the electoral law.
Accompanied by ISIE vice-president Mourad Ben Moula, Mohamed Chafik Sarsar specified that "fixing the date of the elections is the responsibility of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) after consultation of the ISIE."
According to Sarsar, the meeting turned on the difficulties faced by the ISIE, including notably the problem of the premises.
In this connection, he said he had examined with the Prime Minister all the possible scenarios to find a solution to this problem, so as to allow the authority start its work, without expecting the fitting out of its premises next June.
The talk, he went on saying, was also an occasion to evoke the budget to be allocated to the ISIE as well as necessary material and logistic means for its functioning. The legal situation of the ISIE and its members was also included in the agenda of the meeting, he said.
