DAMASCUS - The University of Damascus signed on Wednesday a memo of understanding with the Lebanese Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) Society as the regional representative of the US-based Schweser educational association that grants post-graduate professional certificates.
According to the MOU, signed by Rector of Damascus University, Dr. Mohammad Amer al-Mardini and Director of the Lebanese CFA Society, Roland Aoun, the Schweser association provides the subjects for International Investment Analyst certificate test at Damascus University and grants certificates.
Damascus University, based on the MOU, will host the tests of International Investment Analyst certificate on next July and November and on March of 2013 so as for the University to be accredited as a center for this certificate in Syria.
Dr. al-Mardini said the International Investment Analyst certificate will help students in finding direct job opportunity and getting the priority for working in the financial sector as it contributes to developing and upgrading the skills of financial sciences students to meet the job market requirements.
He added that the certificate enables its holders of competing with pro-graduates working in the Arab and foreign countries as it is internationally acknowledged.
