Dubai: A contest organised by the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) and aims to increase awareness about WFP’s programmes as well as provide a platform where talented cooks can be spotted, will be held on April 12.

The Aseel Live Ladies Cooking Contest will be held at Times Square Mall, Dubai.

WFP is currently present in more than 70 countries, reaching out to more than 90 million people globally, of whom 22 million are children who are part of the School Feeding Programmes.

The initial round of the contest will begin with the selection of 10 recipes picked through radio and TV promos, leaflets and other media. The chosen contestants will be asked to prepare the dishes and bring them for a pre-selection round on April 11.

Professional chefs will then pick three out of 10 contestants, who will enter the final event and prepare the dishes live on April 12. There will be fun activities, quizzes and a draw on the sidelines of the contest.

People interested in taking part may send their recipe to arabrep@eim.ae or call 04-2987171.
