KUWAIT CITY : MP Faisal Al-Muslim has requested Interior Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Khaled Al-Sabah to clarify ambiguities on the government policy allowing the entry of citizens from 34 countries to Kuwait without a visa, reports Al-Anba.
Al-Muslim said "since the policy is purportedly intended to boost the national economy, investment and tourism, the minister should release a report on the number of people from these countries, who entered Kuwait without a visa." Asking if the government conducted a scientific study on the issue, Al-Muslim argued such an experiment should be carried out taking into consideration the categories of visitors, their profession, gender and activities in the country in addition to the place where they stayed and the pros and cons of their visit.
"We have to find out if these visitors committed crimes or violated our rules. It is also important to know if they are allowed to enter Kuwait without considering their professions, motives of visit and evidence of available funds to support their stay in the country," Al-Muslim proposed. On the increased number of investment offers in real estate projects abroad that some local and foreign companies are currently advertising, the MP asked Commerce and Industry Minister Ahmad Baqer to confirm these reports. He asked if the ministry is closely monitoring these companies as well as the projects that they are advertising.
If yes, he instructed the minister to brief him on the procedures followed to ensure the safety of investors in these projects. He also inquired if there were complaints of fraud in this regard in the last five years. If there were complaints, Al-Muslim urged the minister to disclose the number of cases, actions taken, results and detailed description of each case.
