China's Baosteel produces high strength bridge cable wires

China's Baosteel has successfully developed and trial-produced 2100MPa (Megapascal) and 2160MPa multi-alloy coated bridge cable wires.

 

All of the performance indexes, as appraised by scientific and technological achievements in Shanghai, meet the engineering application standards and reach the international advanced level, and will better meet the needs of large-span high-tech bridge construction, the company said.

 

This is another success after Baosteel's 2060MPa bridge cable wire reached the highest strength grade in the world, demonstrating the strength of "Made by Baosteel" and "Baosteel Leading" in the field of bridge cable wire manufacturing, it added.

 

This year, the 2060MPa grade steel self-developed by Baosteel successfully completed the second batch of 800 tons of cable steel wire trial production and passed the evaluation. Baosteel has stable production capacity to supply this grade of bridge cable wire in batches and has signed a supply contract of nearly 10,000 tons of wire rods and wires, which will be applied for the first time in the world-class difficult project -- the Lingdingyang Bridge of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Transportation Project, it said.
