DUBAI, 9th Nov. 2010 (WAM): International Cap LLC (CAPEX), a member of the Al Watania for Industrial Group (WFI), has commissioned two new high-speed lines it added to its plant at the Techno Park in Dubai in a colorful ceremony attended by a large number of its strategic partners, experts in the food industry from the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Australia.
The two new lines are a major boost to the plant whose output capacity has now surged by 630 million caps to reach and annual capacity of 1.62 billion unit per annum. In a welcome address at the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Saleh Al-Ghamdi, CAPEX Deputy Executive Chairman, welcome the gathering which include personalities from within the UAE and abroad, who came to share with CAPEX the latters success story. He said although the food industry had over the past years experienced some degree of instability, it has witnessed some changes and success stories both at the international, regional and local levels. He attributed those successes to the increasing care and priority given to that industry by the leaderships and governments of countries around the globe. Al-Ghamdi said the food experts report issued by the Business Monitor International shows that spending on food in the UAE has reached AED25.6 billion this year, compared to AED24.9 billion recorded last year, an increase of 3%, making the food sector one of the major economic sectors in the UAE, which is the second biggest consumer of beverages in the Gulf region, after Saudi Arabia. Present at the opening, Salma Ali Saif bin Hareb, CEO of Economic Zones World, who said, Capex is a valued partner to us at TechnoPark, and today we are proud to play host to their expanded production facilities. Congratulations to them and we wish them the very best as they cater with increased capacity and efficiency to their ever expanding market.Mr. Ihab Arafah, CAPEX General Manager, said: "We in the International Caps LLC are very proud to be one of the leaders in the food packaging industry. Right from the beginning of our operation, we adopted and implemented in our plant the best international standards by being environment friendly in design and operation, having fixed in our plant modern incinerators on the ovens to ensure no carbon emissions are released to harm the environment." He added that his outfit will soon obtain international quality award certificate like the ISO 22000, the HACCAP and the BRC to crown its efforts.
