Union Properties, a Dubai-based real-estate developer, will issue the enabling works tender for Phase 1 (two towers) of the USD 300 million (AED 1.1 billion) development in MotorCity, The Vertex, by end-November, a senior company official told Zawya Projects in an exclusive.

"We will issue the enabling works tender for Phase 1 by end-November as we want the work to commence by February 2015," said Isam Ababneh, Director - Projects, Union Properties PJSC (UP).

The two towers will be 45-storey and 30-storey high.

"The main construction tender will be issued in April 2015, with work expected to start by July 2015," he disclosed.

Agostine & Raphael Group is the design consultant for the project.

The Vertex, comprising five hi-rise towers, will have 700 units and a retail area of 66,000 square feet.

"We are expecting to complete Phase 1 in 36 months time. The other three towers will overlap Phase 1 with other packages being awarded later. We expect to complete the entire project in 52 months," Ababneh added.

The Vertex is the only hi-rise development in MotorCity (Dubai), which consists of low to mid-rise towers.

Zawya reported in April that Union Properties was planning to launch five high-rise towers in MotorCity before the year-end.

MotorCity is a development based on an automobile and motor sport theme and is developed over a land of approximately 38 million square feet, located on the Emirates Road.

The development comprises five components: Dubai Autodrome, Business Park MotorCity, Uptown MotorCity, Green Community MotorCity and a residential/theme park.
