MUSCAT -- In collaboration with the Dar al Atta'a Association, BankMuscat's Corporate Social Responsibility Department has distributed food rations across various areas and villages in Jebel Shams. This initiative is one of the many planned activities under the 'BankMuscat Family Care' programme which was inaugurated during an agreement signing ceremony on August 25. The initiative is a clear indication of the bank's continued partnership with Dar al Atta'a and its commitment to fund an extensive campaign providing food rations for families with low income in the Governorate of Muscat and other areas of Oman.
The programme will assist families selected by the association to furnish their homes, provide electricity and water supplies alongside home rental payments and other forms of aid relief throughout the year. With a group of young volunteers and a convoy of four large 4x4 vehicles carrying over 700 kg worth of rations, BankMuscat kicked off the campaign in the infamous Jebel Shams and Jebel al Suraat mountains. The villages covered included Al Ghubayra'a, Al Khutaim, Al Hail and Dar Al Sowda'a.
Shaikha al Farsi, Manager -- Planning and Coordination, BankMuscat, said, "The Family Care Programme reaffirms our commitment to reaching as many less fortunate families and individuals as possible. It is truly gratifying for our team to work hand in hand to put a smile on the faces of the Jebel Shams residents." Saud bin Rashid al Khatri, Jebel Shams Guide, said, "We are very grateful to BankMuscat's unprecedented efforts. The bank continues to set the benchmark for social activities that are in the best interest of serving our communities and it was truly humbling to see the staff interact with the families during this time of giving."
