Bani Yas maintain their sole leadership of the Second Division's Golden Four stage following an important victory over Al Fujairah Ahli on Thursday.
The result kept alive their hopes of earning promotion to the First Division.
Bani Yas beat their hosts 2-1 in a highly competitive encounter and increased their tally to 8 points from 4 matches while Ahli remained on 4 points from as many games.
Mohammad Hassan put the visitors in the lead, five minutes before the break, and Moroccan midfielder, Hassan Ulaa sealed the result from the spot, 16 minutes after the breather.
But Bany Yas were not all smiles despite their valuable victory as referee Mohammad Abdul Karim, sent off their Brazilian striker Jadilson who will remain on the stands in the team's next important away match against Dibba Al Hisn, their most serious rivals.
Al Hisn trounced Ras Al Khaimah 5-0 to increase their tally to 5 points and advance from the bottom of the standings to take the second place with two more matches to go, one of them at home against leaders Bani Yas.
Semba and Khalifa Al Mansouri each scored a brace while Khalifa Salim added the fifth.
The victory renewed Al Hisn's hopes to win promotion if they beat Bani Yas next week on their own grounds bearing in mind that their match in Bani Yas ended in a 1-1 tie.
Abdullah Al Bannai, the match referee, sent off Talib Khalifa who collected two yellow cards, both for foul play.
Bani Yas will meet Al Hisn away on Thursday while RAK will host Ahli. Bani Yas will play at home against RAK in their last match on May 12 as Ahli hosts Al Hisn on the same day.
The winner of the Gold Four stage will win automatic promotion to the First Division while the runners-up will enter a play off with the 11th placed team in the standings at the end of the season and the winner of the match will advance to the premier division next season.
