Bahrain's culture and national heritage sector has taken part in Saudi Arabia's 23rd Al Janadriya National Heritage Festival with a variety of activities.
Head of the Bahraini delegation at the festival Mahmoud Khalifa Albinkhalil said. Bahrain's pavilion showcases photos of old villages and neighbourhoods that highlight the Kingdom's cultural identity and historical depth in addition to photos portraying handicrafts, pearl divers, fishermen tugging ships, men selling fresh water and and farmers climbing palm trees.
Visitors can also have a glimpse into a number of Bahraini old games, find out about the latest publications and watch a documentary on Bahrain throughout the ages, Albinkhalil added. A special area has also been reserved for children to exhibit their talents through "A Colour Your Heritage contest", Albinkhalil said. Bahrain candy confection, pottery and traditional copper-studded wooden boxes were among the handicrafts which captivated the attention of visitors at the festival, he added.
