Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), has signed an agreement with Bahrain Specialist Hospital (BSH) to operate the airport clinic of the new passenger terminal building for the next 10 years.

BSH was the winning bidder of a public tender to operate the airside medical facility at BIA’s new passenger terminal building. A dedicated team of health care professionals will be provided around the clock to offer medical services to passengers and airport staff and will also act as first medical responders in case of emergencies. The agreement was signed by BAC Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif Al-Binfalah and BSH Chairman Hamed Rashid Al-Zayani at the BAC headquarters.

Al-Binfalah said: “Health and safety are one of our highest priorities, and we expect to see the level of service improve further when we launch the new passenger terminal building. BSH was selected through a competitive tendering process on the grounds of its technical capabilities and the expertise of its team.”

Al-Zayani said: “We congratulate BAC on the new passenger terminal building and are delighted to enter into this partnership with them. This agreement aims to provide the best medical services to BIA users and represents a unique opportunity for BSH, as the airport clinic will be an essential addition to other services for travelers to and from the airport.”
